For hair dyes, we use the REVLON product line. The colors are alkaline or weakly alkaline, which roughly halves hair damage, as well as gives a shiny finish.
We mix a colorant, which determines color and brightness, and two other substances, which make the colorant react. Then the mixture is applied to the hair and it is dyed. The percentage ratio of the various chemicals that is mixed professionally at the salon differs significantly from the compositions of commercially available ones, such as available at drugstores. The higher the percentage, the higher the load on the hair. In our studio, we always tailor the respective percentage to the individual characteristics and conditions of each client’s hair. We move within a fairly wide range of 1.5% and 12%. With commercial dyes, on the other hand, the composition is fixed at the time of manufacture and is always the same, regardless of whether one’s own hair is already damaged, particularly fine or very light. This promotes further damage to the hair and leads to poorer color fastness. A coloring received at iramasure is always preceded by a detailed consultation with attention to the natural hair color, existing damage and the desired target color. This is done to ensure achieving the desired results in coloring, highlights or balayage, all the way to more complex color treatments.
Here are a few explanations of terms used by us for applied techniques and their purpose!
When you color hair, after about one to two months, regrown uncolored hair sections become visible at the hair root. The exclusive re-coloring of just these uncolored areas is called retouch or roots coloring. For this type of treatment we ask you to make an appointment within seven to nine weeks after the initial coloring. For clients who have dyed gray hair and do not want the roots to be noticeable, we recommend an appointment for roots coloring after about three to four weeks. For those who are concerned about the damage to the hair or can not spend the necessary time, it is advisable to color the roots about every five to six weeks.
By using aluminum foil, it is possible to omit specific sections of hair during coloring, instead of coloring the entire hair uniformly. In this case, different brightness levels can also be realized, in addition, regrown roots are significantly less noticeable than with a complete coloring. Overall, there is greater scope for different individual designs here. You can create a three-dimensional look, for example, or hairstyles in which different proportions of colored hair sections become visible depending on the styling, allowing you to continuously change your individual look.
BALAYAGE (Ombre, color gradation)
In French, balayage means “swept with a broom.” In the context of hair coloring, the term refers to a treatment method that can simultaneously create a sense of transparency as well as three-dimensionality by applying color to the hair with a brush (as if sweeping with a broom). A technique that combines color gradations and strands for a very natural looking overall look. While with ombre or color graduation, only the ends of the hair (or the lower half of the hair) are bleached/colored and separated in color, with balayage, strands and transitions are “brushed” into the area near the roots of the hair, creating an overall more sculpted look. A balayage is usually renewed/refreshed about every six to eight months.
